John P. "Jack" Miles - MainSpring Advisors LLC - Former Secretary - State of Florida, Department of Management Services

Jack Miles is a business operations leader with over 30 years experience successfully transforming corporate services, administration and sourcing organizations in leading North American firms.

Florida Governor Rick Scott appointed Jack as the Secretary of the Department of Management Services (DMS) and he served in that role until April of 2012. DMS is a large and diverse state agency with an annual direct operating budget of $2.5 billion and a functional budget of over $9.5 billion, about 14% of the States $70.0 billion annual budget. Functions within DMS include Real Estate, Facilities, Procurement and My Florida Marketplace, Human Resource Policy and HP Technology, Employee Benefits, Telecommunications including Voice, Data, Emergency 911, Mobile, Law Enforcement Interoperability and Broadband, Retirement Services, Fleet and Vehicle Services, Private Prison Monitoring and Surplus Equipment. DMS also facilitates State Term Contracts; aggregating state wide public sector spend which towns, counties, municipalities and other eligible users across Florida are able to utilize.

Prior to his appointment Jack held senior sourcing executive, shared services and Chief Procurement Officer roles at leading North American firms including CIGNA, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), American International Group (AIG), Computer Associates (CA), Travelers, Ames Department Stores and Prentice-Hall.

Jack is a leader in architecting, resourcing and executing sustainable improvement, accountability, management and process innovation, solving highly complex business, technology and transformation challenges for firms ranging from early stage start up to large-cap global corporate companies.

Jack's belief in adopting eProcurement tools, technology and measurement is legendary. Under his leadership CIBC was an early adopter of eProcurement to simplify the provisioning of supplies and services across the firm providing improved spend visibility, demand management and improving the ¿procure to pay' cycle. Jack was also engaged in eProcurement implementations at AIG, CA, and developing a vision and strategy to take a ten year old eProcurement implementation for the State of Florida to the next level. He serves on the Advisory Council of DocuSign Inc., Advisory Board of Clear Village, Inc., and on the Visionaries Council of Coupa Software Inc.

Jack holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. He has been a frequent speaker at industry events and conferences, and a citizen of the United States and Canada. Jack and his spouse Nancy reside in Winter Park Florida.

Thomas Etergino - CFO - eMusic.com

Mr. Etergino is currently the CFO of eMusic.com, the second largest digital music service in the world. Prior to joining eMusic, Mr. Etergino was the CFO of a publicly traded medical device company, AtriCure, Inc., a market leader in developing, manufacturing and selling innovative medical devices for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation. Previously, he was the CFO of LSSi Corp., a Warburg Pincus portfolio company that is the world leader in building, marketing and supporting advanced national and international database solutions. For five years prior to joining LSSi, Mr. Etergino was the Chief Accounting Officer of DoubleClick Inc., a leading provider of technology, software, data and media products and services that enable marketers, publishers and advertisers to market to customers in the digital world.

Paul Howard - Corporate Procurement Agent - Aquila

Aquila is a domestic energy and services company based in Kansas City Missouri. Since being formed in 1985 from Missouri Public Services Company, Aquila has grown through regulated and non-regulated energy acquisitions and investments and at December 31, 2000, annual sales of 34 Billion. The company serves about 2 million customers in seven domestic states. This includes Aquila's regulated utilities that provide electricity and natural gas to 1.3 million customers in Colorado, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska. As Corporate Procurement Agent of Aquila United, Mr. Howard provides the company's strategic vision and direction for procurement as well as guides the day-to-day operations. Mr. Howard brings years of procurement experience from both the public sector as Commissioner of Purchasing, City of Kansas City, private sector with Kansas City Power and Light and currently holds the position of Director of Corporate Procurement at Aquila. Procurement Services is responsible for 70% of the total Corporate spend for goods and services mostly with corporate leveraged agreements. Mr. Howard currently chairs the KCMSC Purchasing Advisory Committee which works at providing strategic business solutions for area MBE/WBE business operations. Additionally he serves as a board member on Omaha Nebraska and Wichita Kansas Minority Supplier Councils as well as his board seat with New House, a shelter for abused women and children in Kansas City.
